BASEBALL LEGEND RANDY JOHNSON
SET TO PHOTOGRAPH
SLIPKNOT'S KNOTFEST
FOR ROLLING STONE

As the World Series fast approaches, one of baseball's greatest postseason legends is gearing up to capture a different kind of October hero: 2001 World Series MVP and future Hall of Famer Randy Johnson is headed to Slipknot's KNOTFEST— the most cutting edge heavy music festival in America—from October 24-26 to photograph the festival for an exclusive photo gallery to appear on RollingStone.com. The three day destination festival will be held at San Manuel Amphitheater & Campgrounds in San Bernardino, CA.

Five-time Cy Young winner Johnson—who majored in photojournalism at USC—is an established photographer who shoots events as varied as NASCAR and the X Games, in addition to rock concerts. He's also joined seven USO tours and has gone on safari to Africa. His post-baseball career behind the lens was recently chronicled on ESPN's E:60.

KNOTFEST will prove a unique and epic experience for Johnson and all who attend, offering a massive lineup of over 50 bands playing on five stages on Saturday and Sunday, along with over 20 festival attractions including a Slipknot-curated Museum, onsite tattoo parlor, flaming carnival rides, a zip line across the festival grounds, drum circles, a massive display of fire, freaks, fire-breathers, stilt-walkers, and more.

During the festival, Johnson will have exclusive behind-the-scene access to photograph some of the biggest names in metal. Bands performing at KNOTFEST include Slipknot, Danzig, Five Finger Death Punch, Volbeat, Of Mice & Men, Anthrax and dozens more, with Saturday and Sunday night each highlighted by Slipknot's Stage 001 closing sets. Slipknot's sets will be unique each night, featuring brand new music and an entirely new stage set and experience.

Slipknot's live performances will include songs from their new album .5: The Gray Chapter, out October 21 and marking the group's first new music in more than six years.

KNOTFEST tickets are on sale now and going fast at www.knotfest.com. Camping packages, VIP packages and pit tickets are SOLD OUT. All KNOTFEST online ticket purchasers will receive a digital download of the new Slipknot album.

KNOTFEST doors open at 11:00 AM each day and the show runs until 12:30 AM on Saturday and 11:30 PM on Sunday.

KNOTFEST is a short drive from San Francisco, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Tucson, San Diego, the San Joaquin Valley, and many more cities in the Southwestern USA.
